Monkey bizness

Here's le roc after an early morning boxing match with his monkey...

Quick family update: Matt has the chickenpox. Jerah has a sprained ankle and a pulled butt muscle. The cat is, well, mentally ill as usual. P-rock is the only healthy one here in the House-of-Ridiculous-Ailments. At his 2-month check-up, the doctor got confused and thought he was 4 months old, he's so big. 90th percentile height AND weight, what a bruiser!

The Talented Mr. Rocky

His new trick: sucking his thumb. Well, more like gnawing on his thumb as it hangs out of the corner of his mouth like a cigar, but hey. It's a start.

The birds

Our friend Sonia made a mobile with little woolen birds for the Rock. We hung it over his changing table, and he psychotically loves it.

Family portrait

This is Matt and P-rock at Erin's house 2 weeks ago, with a massive painting that Erin's doing of a huge, pregnant me (it's a work in progress). Larger than life, obviously. Yikes.

Rockin' out

We spend a good portion of the day doing this. Good thing he has good taste in music...

New tricks

He's got two new tricks: smiling directly at people and rolling his Rs the french way. Only one of these talents would be of actual use in France.

International territory

We had to go to the UN today to pick up some work-related paperwork. So here's the little man getting his diaper changed on the 15th floor of the Secretariat building and hanging out in the lobby in his sling...

Longshanks

So the doctor said he's in the 90th percentile for height. But he doesn't look so tall when he's in the big kid bed...

All smiles

He's not always this cute, believe me. He screams quite often, these days. Fortunately, we recently figured out that, most of the time, if we take his diaper off and let him hang out au natural, he calms right down and gets wierdly happy. So from now on, to avoid posting indecent pictures of our bebe online, we'll only be posting headshots. Until he grows a sense of decency and lets us put his pants back on.
